Description
During the Army-Navy football game in South Philadelphia on November 29, 1953, a few railroad officials along with rank and file crew members share stories in front of a pair of GG1 "motors" of the Pennsylvania Railroad, which have delivered the VIP's of Washington and Baltimore to the game by special train. This pair of engines are numerical sisters, #4894 (left) and #4893 (right). Rail fans will note the change in the nose keystone logo with numerals on one and "PRR" on the other. These motors drew their power from overhead wires instead of a diesel engine that would generate electricity internally.
