John Dziobko, Jr., was born in Newark, N.J., in 1932 and at a young age was enthralled by the trains that ran near him. Specifically, the old steam engines that were commonplace until the early 1950's, but also the colorful new diesels that were replacing them seemingly everywhere. Unlike many of his contemporaries, John decided at a early point in his photography to use color film as his medium of choice, almost exclusively.
